What is Bija (seed or abstract) Mantra?

ॐ (Om / Aum) or सोऽहं (Soham) are among selected mantras which fall under the category of Bija Mantra.  Bija means seed or root.

Mantras which can be recited with the help of Prana or shortest syllabi are called as Bija Mantra. If we keep a seed in the locker, or very safely or secured place it will never grow, similarly if, we start Mantra without proper understanding or guidance or instructions or grace of guru, specific mantra may not give requisite results. Often it is advisable that one should start reciting mantras as per the guidance of the guru.

Bija Mantra is specifically for Self Realization or attains the supreme blisss. These mantras are received with full respect, honor as energy transformation from the Guru. With Shakti Paat (Energy Transformation) Guru invokes the powers of Mantra.

Mostly seed mantras are not directly associated with any deity. These can be recited by any body any where without confusion about deity. These are good for God Realization. These are universal mantras. Some time they are bestowed and guided by the Guru.

What are Deviy Mantras?

To invoke the powers of specific Deity or Demi God or Guru, there are specific mantras, which can be recited with specific method are called Deviy Mantra.

Deviy mantras belong to a particular deity, male or female, for example Shiva, Krishna, Vishnu, Durga, Lakshmi, Ganesha, Sarasvati and others.

Guru often gives a mantra in accordance to deciple’s state or level. Guru transfers these mantras powers to disciple, to dispel the darkness.

During deity worship, use deity mantra. Follow the rhythm and guidelines of chanting deity mantra.  Right partner in the life gives right results of life. Similarly right deity helps for awakening your right spiritual path.

Do not change your mantra without guidance of the Guru.
