yoga prayer



                                                      PRAYER
Before starting yoga practice close your eyes and chant following universal prayers suitable for every caste, creed, culture or religion:
Chant OM three times very clear and deep. 50% time open mouth and 50% time lips together with full awareness.
Then chant following prayer:

|| Om Sahana Vavatu. Sahanau Bhunaktu
Sahaveeryam Karvavahai   ||
|| Tejasvina aVadhitamastu 
Ma Vidhwishavahai ||
|| Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi   ||

Meaning in English : Oh lord ! protect all of us and help us that we get  capacity to study and understand (the scriptures). We acquire the knowledge. With the acquisition of this knowledge let peaceful power also flow in us. Help us that we get brilliance. We don’t hold any grudges (enmity) against anyone.  Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi.

Eyes remain closed and after this chanting, rub your palms together. Cover your face with your hands. Bend forward your head. Maintain full awareness. Slowly  come back and gently open your eyes. This centering process stabilizes the mind and body to enable us to proceed with yoga practice.

Guidelines for Yoga practice:
Before, during and after yoga practice following guidelines will give better results:
1.   Right time: Early Morning, empty stomach is the best time to do yoga. It gives the maximum benefits. If you want to do it in the afternoon or in the evening then you should not eat or drink tea 3 hours before.
2.   Place: It should be clean and a silent place  It is better to practice yoga on a yoga mat or a carpet.
3.   Practice: If you practice 60 minutes yoga and meditation everyday you will start getting results very soon. Patience is very  important for yoga practice.
4.   Air : Its really good to practice yoga in fresh air. Switch off all fans and air cooling while practicing.
5.   Energy : While doing meditation you can take a blanket or shawl over you. As in meditation body releases lot of energy. This energy helps in stronger immune system and experience peace.
6.   Silence : While practicing do not talk. Switch off TV and Mobile phone. This are very private moments.
7.   Liquid: Immediately after drinking coffee or tea, don’t do yoga practice. Allow minimum 2.30 hours.
8.   Water: Right after yoga practice do not drink water. Emergency is exceptional. After 1 hour or so you can drink normal temperature water. Do not drink very cold water as it will increase your body pain and other problems.
9.   How many times: Once a day yoga practices are recommended. In case of some problem/disease minimum recommended twice daily. This will give better results.
